This might not be news to most people, but as an old fart I think it’s really exciting to eliminate a minor annoyance. I was going through my voicemail, wherein I hit 7 to delete a message, whereupon the chipper message-box lady says, “Message deleted! Press 9 to restore”
I discovered that if hit 7 twice instead, it deletes the message and goes on to the next message without comment. I can hardly wait to get more messages, so I can have the pleasure of dispatching them with alacrity.
A site foreman had ten very lazy men working for him, so one day he decided to trick them into doing some work for a change.
“I’ve got a really easy job today for the laziest one among you,” he announced. “Will the laziest man please put his hand up.”
Nine hands went up.
“Why didn’t you put your hand up?” he asked the tenth man.
“Too much trouble,” came the reply.
Very strange, I had never heard of tying a knot in a cherry stem using just your tongue, and then I heard about it TWICE in the space of ONE hour… First while listening to the audio book The Rabbit Factory: A Novel on my way home from work, then Comics.com sent my daily email containing my favorite “newspaper” comic strips, which includes “Liberty Meadows”:
… How weird is that? What does it all mean?
P.S. It’s two days later, I just realized that she probably already had a tied one in her mouth. I’m so gullible.
