What is Mario's best matchup? ›

As a character, Mario doesn't come with a lot of traditional flaws, but in terms of being a fighter in the infamous Super Smash Bros. franchise, he does have some issues. The most major one is his lack of ranged attacks. This is often a problem in his games as well.

Even if they used their ordinary power-ups, like the Fire Flower or Lucky Bell, there's no reason to say that the result would be any different. And even if we had taken into account all power-ups, Mario's SHEER durability, strength and experience outclass Luigi.

Regardless, Bowser's strengths outweigh his weaknesses and he is widely considered to be the best super heavyweight in the game, though overall he is considered mid-tier by most professionals.

Abilities. Mario is a skilled plumber. He also has proven to be a skilled martial artist, being able to beat most of the members of the Fight Club, the Hammer Brothers, and numerous Shy Guys. He is relatively inexperienced in comparison to other fighters, but he is able to hold his own in most fights.
