Our best chance for rain this weekPEORIA (25News Now) - While a majority of us have remained dry so far this week, a few areas have seen some locally heavy rainfall the last two days. Our best chance for more widespread rain will arrive today with a cold front passing through Central Illinois. A few scattered storms will be possible this morning mainly north of I-74. A better chance for storms will arrive this afternoon into the evening as the cold front sinks south. A Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) has been issued for Central Illinois as an isolated strong to severe storm is possible. While the severe weather threat is low, it is not zero. Any severe storm would be capable of damaging winds and isolated large hail, but tornadoes are not expected. The main window for any isolated severe storm will run from 1-8 PM. Once this front exits, drier weather will return as temperatures climb to the lower 90′s by Sunday.
